Viole(n)t Existence: making sense of a fragile humanity on a fragile earth

Time: 13.15, room: 3.210, Katy Wareham Morris, Senior Lecturer & Course Leader Media and Culture; HEA Fellow lecturer at the University of Worcester

"The keynote will introduce my identity positions and experiences at Worcester, moving into how these positions and experiences are represented in my poetry: the themes, style and form. This will include a discussion of how I attempt to make sense of: my working class background and industrial heritage; my version(s) of womanhood including motherhood; my disability (Crohn's Disease); a female in academia; and, my Imposter Syndrome. This 'existence' meanwhile takes place on an earth which is fragile: climate crisis; end of industry; nuclear threat; global conflict; pandemic etc."
